the world is going through way too many pressing issues to stop and care about a gold statue-saying to Jada: [quote] “it just aint that deep [end quote]
Thus far, black’s brother from another mother: director and political and social rebel in his own right, Michael Moore is joining the boycott along with Jada, director Spike Lee, and rapper Snoop.
Last year’s snubbed actor from “Selma” David Oyelowo never actually committed to joining the boycott but spoke out- saying Hollywood’s lack of diversity is unforgivable.
And last, but not least, actor and R&B crooner Tyrese Gibson’s gripe was not necessarily about joining a boycott but rather his disdain about artist’s falling back rather than stepping up to speak out (like Jada did) out of fear but instead, are comfortable with armchair quarterbacking:
With regarding to what Tyrese is saying, it’s also important to note the not-so-glamorous side of wanting to “be rich and famous” as you can see, behind what looks like glamour and fun often times gets real. And when sh/t gets real (highest in numbers) people get “fake” out of fear of being “blacklisted’ (like “Aunt Viv” who, as you can see, is now “free” and speak her peace-either way).
That said, being rich and famous doesn’t necessarily mean you are “free” and although art often times imitates life, life doesn’t always return the favor [of imitating art] but rather: agony.
Update:
Jada thanks Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs for her prompt reply (to Jada’s original video).

For minute, it seems as though she was going to ignore Janet Hubert’s dig but then this was released via Entertainment Tonight:
“Considering that Alabama had its highest recruitment for the KKK for Martin Luther King’s birthday, I hope that we as African-Americans can find a way to get along and step together,” Smith says. According to the New York Daily News, a Ku Klux Klan chapter distributed recruitment flyers to residents in Mobile, Alabama, over the MLK holiday weekend.
“This whole Oscar controversy isn’t really about the Oscars,” she adds. “Really, in my plea to ask all communities and people of color to take back our power is so that we can use it in all sectors of our community, and right now, specifically with African-American people, we have some very serious issues that I think we as a people have to move together on. I’m hoping we can find ways to step together in this instead of finding ways to fight each other. I got love for everybody.”
A short time after that, GMA’s Robin Roberts interviewed Jada’s husband Will who asserts Jada’s decision wasn’t about him but rather, principle and by her own maverick, and that her stance was to explore diversity within the voting academy.
Oh. sh/t wasn’t over…
Sometime within this, (as if Will and Jada aren’t parents of teen children out here in these social media streets) the (Courtney Cox-Arqueete) transgender sister Alexis came off real half-cocked.
She took it upon herself to post (then deleted) some scathing vicious slander at Will and Jada by digging up 20+ year old rumors which, in turn, were then corrected by Will’s ex-wife Sheree Fletcher (son of his eldest-Trey). Sheree is the one who Alexis claimed walked in on Will and his then manager (who is currently JLo’s now manager): Benny Medina:
Obviously, Sheree stepped in to correct Alexis’ messiness:
