Was MELISSA HARRIS-PERRY In The Right or Wrong w/MSNBC + Was This All Over BEYONCE’s “Formation?”

really a question about whether she is right, wrong or had a right (or not).

The issue here is that despite having her “own show”—she doesn’t have her own network (or own television talk show on a network e.g., the old 4 p.m/CBS Oprah Show, Ellen Degeneres Show, Steve Harvey Show etc).

Hear me out…

Although the Formation subject and controversy certainly fit her show’s format, there’s one thing to remember in all this new millennial “inclusion” and cultural, social, and sexual diversity lessons we are given daily—thanks to social media and extending itself over to other media outlets (like MSNBC, Fox, CBS, ABC etc).

While she doesn’t have ‘her own talk show on a network’ (per se), and what she wanted to do wasn’t too far a stretch from her show’s format; the “formation” in the matter is this fact: Who she is (singularly), and what she wanted to talk about (longitudinally) by permission, was forced to form a line to the back of the line–when the powers that be showed up to show her really just how much ‘talk show’ she really did not ‘have’—per: SAY.

You see, the Harris-Perry’s, social media hashtag sects and the like have to remember something:

In this new millennium and new world order and way to socialize (with regular, everyday people having access to the media in the palm of their hands too), the ‘powers that be’ at these MSBNC’s and such are forced to allow a platform for social, sexual, cultural or gender diversity (no different than corporate diversity training in a corporate job).

With issues of like LGBT, body image/shaming, etc being social media hot button topics, the television media has no choice but the follow social media hashtag sects’ conversational sensation and rule.

But the Melissa Harris-Perry ‘having her own show’ and wanting to discuss the racial and social backlash stemming [from Formation] is where the ‘powers that be can draw their line’ (and show’em better than they can tell them-they are really on borrowed time. Never get too comfortable…

You have to look at Melissa Harris-Perry like:

  • Mattel and their new various sized and plus sized Barbie’s
  • Sports Illustrated adorning their first “plus-sized” model on the cover
  • Mac makeup making Bruce Jenner gone Caitlyn Jenner their new spokeswoman
  • Leggo making special needs toys

…Thanks to the “power of the people” (of social media), all this inclusion and ‘care’ of the once shunned are now getting shine (and sold).melissa harris-perry apollo theater

While the sincerity (over the sensation and sales) behind it all could very well be called to the carpet, the fact of the matter is: social media (now) controls television media. But

  • Melissa Harris-Perry

…is just 1 entity who, over the past four years of [quote] developing a brand [end quote], aint no “army” (no matter how much allegiance she may have on social media).

In that regard, to her (one) self and a social media sect outcry, MSNBC’s guns are much bigger.

While (via MSNBC) Melissa Harris-Perry may have ‘had her own show,’ she didn’t have her OWN show (like Oprah) or her own talk show (like Ellen Degeneres Show, Steve Harvey Show).

So until she gets her own show (like Oprah, Ellen or Steve), she’s going to make to make due and continue to make it do (what she feels) is due on social media, a blog, or a You Tube show.
