Was MELISSA HARRIS-PERRY In The Right or Wrong w/MSNBC + Was This All Over BEYONCE’s “Formation?”

yet I have been shut out from coverage. I have a PhD in political science and have taught American voting and elections at some of the nation’s top universities for nearly two decades, yet I have been deemed less worthy to weigh in than relative novices and certified liars. I have hosted a weekly program on this network for four years and contributed to election coverage on this network for nearly eight years, but no one on the third floor has even returned an email, called me, or initiated or responded to any communication of any kind from me for nearly a month. It is profoundly hurtful to realize that I work for people who find my considerable expertise and editorial judgment valueless to the coverage they are creating.

While MSNBC may believe that I am worthless, I know better. I know who I am. I know why MHP Show is unique and valuable. I will not sell short myself or this show. I am not hungry for empty airtime. I care only about substantive, meaningful, and autonomous work. When we can do that, I will return — not a moment earlier. I am deeply sorry for the ways that this decision makes life harder for all of you. You mean more to me than you can imagine.

Yours always,

Melissa

Those are her words, explanation and side; and day by day since; other news media outlets, whispers and reports say that Melissa’s fight was over editorial freedom and refused to host the show after weeks of being preempted for presidential election coverage given the ongoing GOP campaign debacles (and “Donald Trump Show” who perhaps, would better serve this country coping a squad in place of Melissa versus campaigning America to become apart of his squad).

Pause.

Melissa Harris-Perry [who’s been at MSNBC since 2012 and is a professor at Wake Forest University]…throughout social media, [she] is known and accepted [for being] just that: awake “woke” and well-versed on issues regarding racism, social injustice, diversity, gender and politics (which is the premise of her weekend show and has been since day one).

Rewind.

That being the case, all of February since Super Bowl, while Beyonce’s Formation was the subject of a mix of scrutiny, scorn, and celebration (depending on who you ask), it’s no wonder that Harris-Perry would want to make the issue apart of the discussion on her show (for her to discuss).

However, reportedly, MSNBC higher ups wouldn’t permit her to do so (given the GOP debates and coverage this entire February month being turned up to political octaves unheard of).

Well if Beyonce may have her say (as sang): “You know you’that b/tch when you cause all this conversation,” then “That B/tch” she certainly is.

Because (reportedly) Melissa Harris-Perry did the show on Beyonce and the Formation backlash anyway and since-hadn’t returned.

Depending on who you ask, she’s right, has a right, and wrong and has no right.

Either way, I will say this (about it):

It’s not
