When there’s an artist act headlining a show or a performance on a show (like the Grammy’s) and then you find out that Madonna is going to be performing with this act, still, you don’t quite say: “[Said Act’s Name] featuring Madonna,” you just have to say: “[Said Act’s Name] + Madonna”—because Madonna performing with anybody is a plus—she is, and always has been her very own “feature.”
Well, “Said Act” has a name. And, too, it is expected to be a pretty big night for Said Act: “Macklemore (featuring Ryan Lewis).”
Macklemore is up for six of the biggest awards of the night:
- Album of the Year
- Song of the Year (“Same Love”)
- Best New Album
- Best Rap Song
- Best Rap Album (where, he is up against some heavy hitters in the game like: Drake, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Kanye West)
- …so when you’re slated to perform your song of the year PLUS Madonna, whether you win tonight or not, [Macklemore and Ryan Lewis] already won.
Our sources caught up with Madonna sporting a “No Excuses” beanie while running errands with some friends yesterday (Saturday, January 25, 2014).On Friday, she was spotted leaving JFK Airport to a flight to Los Angeles in preparation for her greatly anticipated performance with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis alongside the megastar, singing their song: “Same Love” reports US Weekly.
It’s also rumored that there is going to be another surprise to happen mid-song, mid-performance which has much-ado-what the song is about…

“No Excuses” for Madge herself I see. Madonna was recently on crutches but took to Instagram to note ( + confirm): “It’s official! I’m off my crutches and I’m looking for the perfect pair of heels to wear to the Grammys.”
