In addition to modeling Chanel’s pre-fall line, check out the short film (created by Karl Lagerfeld) shot to accompany the campaign.
“There’s a touch of Pop Art in it,” Lagerfeld said. “It’s not meant to be a historical reconstruction or something heavy like that. This is light and funny.”
In the short film, Cara plays a waitress-Pharrell: an elevator operator who find themselves in a dream sequence leading to the pair singing and dancing to an original song written by Pharrell called “CC to the World.”
As well, the film is supposed to depict the story behind the inspiration of Chanel’s iconic hotel elevator operator jacket–a designed inspired from back when [Coco Chanel] admired the digs on a hotel elevator operator while vacationing in Austria in 1954-hence the name of the short film: “Reincarnation.”
