The chance of a lifetime may very well be just that for a lucky rap star wanna be as The Lifetime Channel just picked up on an unscripted show called The Rap Game starring legendary producing hitmaker and rapper Jermaine Dupri (who will serve as a mentor) along with singer, actress, and rap legend Queen Latifah.
Cameras will follow five young artists (ages 12-17) as they get groomed to stardom on route to raid the rap game under Dupri Latifah’s mentorship.
Penciled in to guest star and weekly mentors are Usher, Silento, Ludacris, T.I, Da Brat and others to be announced.
Along with Shakim Compere, The Rap Game is executive produced by both Latifah and Dupri as well as Intuitive Entertainment, Mechelle Collins, Chris Deaux, Fuest Silva, and Kevin Dill. (Overseeing for Lifetime Channel is Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue and Mariana Flynn while Sean Rankine will serve as the showrunner), so lock in to the premier on January one and thereafter on Fridays at 10 p.m. to watch how a star is born having started from the bottom!
