Nike might’ve hung in there with Tiger during his transgressions but they don’t extend their swoosh to hanging in there with guys that talk bad about community LGB and transgender.
The sneaker giant is holding no punches and all paychecks, going forward, from boxing champ Manny Pacquiao who is on record for making dogged derogatory remarks deeming people in male/male and female/female relationships “worse than animals.”
“Have you seen any animal having male-to-male or female-to-female relations?” Pacquiao said on a Filipino television station earlier this week. “If you have male-to-male or female-to-female [relationships], then people are worse than animals.”
In support of Nike kicking Pacquiao to the curb, you can add basketball legend Magic Johnson who is always generously supportive of all sports players out here getting it these days.
If an athlete rubbed Magic the wrong way such that (in his own words) he tweeted he was through with you, you really messed up. Magic Johnson plays objectively fair and loves ‘em all: boxing, football, golf, and all-just like his love of basketball.
I applaud Nike for terminating Manny Pacquiao's contract after his derogatory statements that gay people are worse than animals.

Despite Pacaquaio apologizing after thinking twice about those monetary sanctions coming his way what he obviously thought was a profound comparison of thought (same sex animal vs. same sex humans), Magic or Nike aren’t buying it:
“We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent,” the company said in a statement. “Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community.”
Fans of all walks of life including gay fans supported May/Pac fight putting $100M in his pocket. I guess to him their money is still green.

I won't be watching another one of Manny Pacquiao's fights.
