No one has heard from rapper Shawnna who, from the moment in 2001 when she popped up on the scene as a protégé of Ludacris’ with his group Disturbing the Peace; everyone thought her style, persona, and leading lady status among the group founded by Ludacris was going to soar.
Quite the opposite happened though, and the female rapper mysteriously disappeared-leaving everyone to assume (and rumors spreading) that perhaps there was some bad-blood and in-fighting; leaving a soaring career left: sore [instead].
In 2010 she (somewhat) addressed the issues (and more).
Now although, with the invent of the Internet, “blacklisting” anyone doesn’t hold as much power as it did before open access as such…and although Shawnna hasn’t been much at the forefront (like many other female rappers haven’t), still, she ascertains that she indeed was blacklisted [by the instruct of] DTP (Disturbing Tha Peace) founder: Ludacris.
Just recently, she did an interview where she accused her “What’s Your Fantasy” collaborator, Ludacris, of a nightmare of sorts: Having her banned from attending the BET Hip Hop Awards just recently held last month, in Atlanta.
