The 2018 Golden Globes’ Surprising Snubs and Ceremony!

Presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Beverly Hilton Hotel marked the spot this morning where the 75th Golden Globe nominations where announced by Hollywood legends Sharon Stone and Alfre Woodard.

Also revealing the list and checking it twice was actors Kristen Bell and Garrett Hedlund.

Along with the excitement and anticipation, Tinseltown was, too, indeed abuzz as shock and awe ascended among the stars—considering the snubs.

Given the rampant female head honcho presence woven throughout television, behind the camera in film and more, this snub was less than stellar.

The well-deserved spotlight having been shined (off-camera) with female camaraderie and empowerment, and on camera-with more female directors now more than ever; the Golden Globes’ noms snubs surprised all.

Female super heroes lacing lassos around securing [being] quite the household name was one every fan felt had it in the bag. But Wonder Woman  Gal Gadot’s super powers seemed to repel a nod for the golden statue instead.

Other shocking snubs included singer turned actress Mandy Moore of the hit television show ThisIsUs.

By contrast, singer turned actress (or at least until official notice-moonlighting as one); Mary J. Blige proved her star power in the move Mudbound, where it and she was nominated for Golden Globes. Tap in to our sister site where Mudbound’s (female) Director Dee Rees talks about breaking the rules of the narrative and finding truth in the cracks.

In case you missed the Golden Globee announcements, tap in below and in to our friends at the Hollywood Reporter (reporting on the shocking snubs).

Slated to be hosted by comedian Seth Meyers, the shin dig goes down January 7, 2018 ET on NBC.
