Yesterday, we at Other Side of the Fame reported what soon was all the buzz across the Internet: By way of a Facebook posting, Good Morning America new anchor Robin Roberts came out [by openly declaring: “I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together.”
She and Amber have been longtime girlfriends for 10 years now.
December 29th [2013] was the one year anniversary since the adversity [and eventual triumph] of what Roberts’ referred to as “the critical milestone of 100 days post transplant,” and via her Facebook page, she wanted to express her gratitude, thanks, and appreciation for all the who were instrumental to her recovery, as well as those who were in support of, and surrounded her with love and care.
Add one more person to this list of people who are in support of Roberts at this brave moment in time [of coming out to the public about her longtime girlfriend]: First Lady Michelle O’bama.
That’s right.
The first lady expressed her support via Twitter:
.@RobinRoberts, I am so happy for you and Amber! You continue to make us all proud. -mo
