Uh. Uh Honey: KANYE Sued For “Bound 2”

Is somebody trying to lay hands on Jesus…I mean…Yeezus?

Yes.

In addition to his rap genius (in case you didn’t know), Kanye West is a super producer and is the creative genius behind countless production/music samples used in music since early 2000 (during, and right before the world met his acquaintance I’ll have you know).

His trademark (“watermark” on water) was the way he had a knack for taking the sound of music of someone singing a regular song and speeding it up to make it sound almost like the Chipmunks singing-but somehow; he had a way of making the sample blend into the song to which it belonged.

bound2  Well, this time around, West is being sued by a child singer by the name of Ricky Spicer for the use of his song sampled in West’s song “Bound 2”-claiming it belongs to him.

According to the lawsuit, (when he was just twelve years old) Spicer recorded the song while singing with a group called: “The Ponderosa Twins Plus One.”

Ricky Spicer says West used the song without his permission and is suing for compensation from monies made off the song.

Also named in the lawsuit are labels: Roc-A-Fella Records, Island Def-Jam Music, Rhino Entertainment Group and Universal Music Group.

According to the report, the suit claims “Spicer’s voice is sampled exactly as he recorded it,” which means, this time, Kanye didn’t even bother speeding up the sound to sample it [like his trademark usual], but we’re sure Yeezus will put a move on baptizing this issue immee-jat-ley.

Here, have at the song by “The Ponderosa Twins Plus One”
