Woman Suing Rapper 2CHAINZ For Backstage Video-Says Ruined Her Life| The Secret World of Groupies: Let’s Uncover…

who you are-I go for the head first, heart x soul second, and I take up from there or I walk away.

So in that regard, in considering that-I’m not backstage groupie material at all. Because when the lights go down, and the sweat is wiped off-you probably don’t want to hear all these: “Wow”-like kid to-Shaq-like kinda questions I have for you—because that’s about all I got for you. (Trust me. I have an old Twitter account to prove it. When I first learned about Twitter years ago-I thought Twitter was a place where your favorite artist or band grabbed a spot and allowed their fans to know they are real life people and you can go fascinated-ly firing off with your questions and statements about them/or their work. And betcha by golly wow, I took full advantage of that.

I selected about 60 of ‘em and like a big kid, here’s goes me: “SHAQ!!!!!! IS THAT REALLY YOU!” Not: “Shaq..I wanna sleep with you….”

Fast forward. Eventually I calmed down and wasn’t as fascinated-especially when I learned that’s not what the platform was for, per se.

Legend has it (and this is real of back then-2008 or 2009 by the way). I wore Puffy down about getting Mary on Twitter. I mean every single day I was at him about Mary J. showing up on Twitter. I meant business, okay? Then one day Diddy posted she was coming. She then showed up with a page “@MJBtheMVP” (then she changed it to her name after a few days). At that point, you couldn’t tell me that was what Twitter was for. I was like a kid jumping up and down on a mattress when Mary got on. LoL.

So y’all got the “me” to thank for Mary playing on Twitter with y’all today. Because she did NOT eff with Twitter before I started bugging Diddy about getting her on.

But did I wanna be friends with her/hang in her circle? No.

Did I wanna bed her? No.

I was happy to know there really was a person behind the music I liked of hers. That’s it.

But back to that “other” fascination (and subject of this write-up).

I NEVER understood the fascination with it, but I am (and always have been) curious about people who are.

My thing (for me) is this: I don’t like small-talk (talk about the weather or other frivolous things when, if we all, or both know we’re here for something bigger). I don’t waste time-mine or yours.

So on the flip side of that, as a person who’s not into small-talk, if I am going to be a “groupie” I’m coming with the real. I’m not coming with:

“I’m in school.”

“I do hair and got my own shop.”

“I model”

…or other fronts to prove I’m doing, or trying to do something with my life in order to prove myself worthy of being around you in yours.

Fck that.

If I (me-Angie) am/was ever going be a “groupie” there is no small-talk, or in-between.

It’s business, pleasure, or both. I’m about the connect and either coming through with:

  • The drugs and oil
  • That thing that sells when rice don’t sell no more (complete with a roster of all flavors for varying tastes)

I don’t get showing up (like the girl in the video), with no agenda or showing up without being instantaneously hand-picked to chill, have drinks, and have a night that goes on from there.

But I don’t judge her. It just makes me curious…like:

  • What goes through people’s minds that are lured into stuff like that?
  • What are they wanting?
  • Hoping for?
  • Fantasizing about?
  • Do they dislike being called “a groupie”
  • Do they have their own/a better name to replace “groupie”
  • With as much as these guys make music about + submerge themselves in lifestyles and around people supporting  their (perceived or real) disdain, detachment, or apathy for women…what makes you want to be in their elements and social circles when the most frontin’ ever goes on?

…I’ve always wanted to know/want honesty about the lifestyle and why?

In my town (and this was before social media) we had lots of girls like that. Everybody knew them by name. None of these girls ever ended up with these guys (mostly ball players-but when rappers or singers would come to town you’d hear freakytales), but none of these girls ended up with these guys and the ones that did, had
