one night stands or freakytales, but just: your excursions, travels, efforts and or wretched or methodical steps you take to do what you do, or go where you go to see (or be with) whomever you want to see or be with: Real life tales and what motivates or draws you to stuff like this. If you want to be interviewed, you will be invited no doubt. I want to know who you are and the invitation will always be there as a feature.

At any rate.

I’m curious because, it’s a big lifestyle, but undercover. Undercover because no one (male or female) really wants to cop to it but let’s be real: the moves to do it are being done and it’s been a lifestyle since the stone-age.

For me (personally) I never understood, or was drawn to the bright lights of big superstars and groupie life-could be because:

  1. my brother was back end associated with people like Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek, Harve Pierre, Spydaman, rappers, singers, and countless other producers, artists and front and back-end people in the business. So over the years, he would DARE catching me backstage at a concert. Oh. That was rule number: not even an option. His “If I ever catch your m0thereffin a$$” warnings rang constantly in my head
  2. the stories I would overhear about that backstage and behind the glitter goings on were jaw-droppingly unbelievable (stories within and groupie tales outside the industry)
  3. …so even without my brother’s warnings and threats, I just never wanted

Listen, years ago when he got me my first [said rapper]’s fan club packet to be ambassador of it in our region of the country, I was ready to go to work! I will never forget that. But that’s the extent of it. Did I wanna be friends with her? No. Did I wanna bed her? No. Did I want to meet her? If it ever happened (then)-sure. That’s it.

Just generally speaking though, I’ve never been drawn into playing into a person’s ego or their great, big public persona simply to be a notch under their belt. If anything, I can go excitedly happy about a person’s talent and the fact that “Wow-this is really you!”—like a kid loving Shaq and be cool with that…go home with an autograph…and be cool with that. I’m an artist and a creative. I know the blood, sweat, tears and sacrifice that goes into art. So if I like an artist, the fact that I met or talked to the artist that does something I like, respected or was mesmerized by-that was good enough for me—bit that’s it. I don’t want to hang in your circle or go home with you for the night. I’d be more curious about your mind and who the person is behind the craft in every way (over being curious about bedding you first). Generally speaking, I could care less
