Popular gospel singer, Marvin Sapp (pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan) was granted an order of protection against a 30 year-old woman (Teleka Patrick) in September 2013-about three months prior to when she went missing.
The protection order was granted because it was alleged (by Sapp) that Patrick claimed to be his wife, contacted his teenage children and had been to his him. According to our sources, the woman is a native Californian who joined the church when she moved to Michigan to serve her medical residency a Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
According to Sapp (as written in his petition requesting the order of protection): “I have at least 400 pages of correspondence from her which I have never responded to.”
The protection order is effective until March 18, 2014.
Teleka Patrick was last seen on December 5, 2013 after a check-in to a hotel Kalamazoo where she was a medical student resident at a local nearby hospital.
Later that night, her Lexus was found about 100 miles away in a ditch along Interstate 94 inNorthern Indiana. It obviously wasn’t a robbery, because Her wallet, cash and indentification were in the car.
Along with the FBI, Indiana and Michigan police are investigating Teleka’s disappearance.
Her parents, Mattahais and Irene Patrick, released statements to The Kalamazoo Gazette saying that they had been advised not to speak about the protective order because it could impede and prejudice the search for their daughter. They offered the following however, “There are so many details that have been revealed during the course of this investigation that confuse and hurt us all the more,” they said. “Regardless of Teleka’s emotional state, we believe wholeheartedly that she has encountered some harm or danger. It is unlike her to go any significant length of time without any contact with family or friends.”
The families private investigator, Jim Carlin, told the Associated Press that he too, could not comment on the protection order, however, he offered the following: “The family’s position is they did not know this was going on, and regardless of what may or may not be accurate, the focus today is to focus on what happened Dec. 5 and bring her home,” Carlin said.
A little background of Teleka Patrick:
