Affirmative Action and other scholarships and programs exclusive to minorities-without any understanding and empathy that these programs aren’t put in place to exclude them, it is because no promised 40 acres, mules and other reparations have ever been handed out to give certain previously oppressed races a fair start from generations before them. And where (because of oppression) white privilege has its head start in the judicial, education and other systems; scholarship programs are necessary in jobs and education to encourage interest and to help ensure success [in] and serve as a inspiration to get minorities into these places to be-with a little help that serves as a double benefit where they otherwise are typically not privy, and most often times are at a disadvantage at competing in receiving.
In considering that, I would like to know just what his ardent desire was for wanting to get into Morehouse so bad that (if he did lie) why he lied about his race to get in.
I’ve had several healthy conversations and dialogue in college with my white friends and associates and as well-others who simply hated Affirmative Action and exclusive scholarship programs and who had no problem voicing their interest in conjuring up ways to make Affirmative Action and such “exclusive benefits” pay (if they could get away with finding one that would allow them to slip under the radar and use).
I can’t help but wonder if Shaun King was one of them.
In considering white privilege in America, I’m totally baffled as to why anyone (like Rachel Dolezal) would elect to sell out of white privilege to voluntarily be apart of black disadvantage. But when it comes to someone lying to benefit from a financial advantage (desperately needed for the black race and other minorties), I could accept the Rachel Dolezal’s over what Shaun King (allegedly) did-until I know the reason why [he did?] such a thing.
Although Rachel Dolezal lied and took a position from what could have possibly been given to someone of color (or even another qualified white woman as, the NAACP position she held wasn’t exclusive to people of color), still, the fact of the matter is; her credentials that she earned got her that position whereas, Shaun King (allegedly?) lied and therefore blatantly took the spoon out of the mouth of a minority who could have very well benefited from a Morehouse College scholarship.
At any rate. Breibart.com did a digital expose of Shaun King exposing his white mom and dad and birth certificate to prove it and has since, been blocked by King (and they even exposed that too).
