Not necessarily for the weight he lost, but Subway’s Jared was caught with his pants down and has officially been sandwiched as the spokesperson for the sandwich chain after 15 years and having lost 200 pounds eating Subway sandwiches only.
This ultimately landed him a spot as the international spokesperson for the sandwich giant and to date, he’s worth $15 million dollars.
Unfortunately, Jared, 37, had bigger problems more costly today.
Federal authorities raided the Zionsville, Indiana home of Jared Fogle early this morning but would not disclose the reason.
Reportedly, FBI sources state that federal and state investigators raided his home in connection with a child pornography investigation.
Sources say Russell Taylor, the director of Jared’s charitable foundation: Jared Foundation, was arrested earlier this year.
Subway released the following statement: “We are shocked about the news and believe it is related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee. We are very concerned and will be monitoring the situation closely. We don’t have any more details at this point.”
Keep in mind-that statement was made earlier today and Jared’s face (and documented weight loss journey) remained on the company’s website as of early this morning when the raid took place.
Since then however, hours past, “Jared’s Journey” is no longer.
The Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children is investigating.
Jared’s attorney, Ron Elberger, expressed, “Jared has been cooperating, and continues to cooperate, with law enforcement in their investigation of unspecified charges, and looks forward to its conclusion.”
Unless Subway knows something we don’t know, no word on just why Subway removed him from their site at this “alleged” stage of development but as well, they removed Jared’s foundation from being linked to the site.
Mannnn. Nobody sticks with these folks and their trangressions like Nike did Tiger.
Oh well.
