Shots were fired at a promotional party for rappers T.I., Young Jeezy and Yo Gotti at a Charlotte club on Saturday.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg, N.C., police confirmed the 7 p.m. shooting to USA TODAY.
“Two people injured with gunshot wounds. One person drove themselves to the hospital and one person was transported by ambulance. Both are non-life-threatening injuries,” said Captain J.D. Thomas, watch commander for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, who could not yet specify who the victims were. One victim was female.
Entertainment blogger Selena Alexander, who was covering the event for the blog Elite Insiders, tells USA TODAY she ducked after hearing multiple shots fired inside the venue.
“It was packed,” said Alexander, and as the shots rang out, the artists were visible on stage. Each had earlier spoken on microphones as their music played.
“Two distinct gunshots rang out,” said Alexander. “The artists were immediately rushed out.”
Raw video captured by Instagram user ATLPics shows panic inside the club.
