If you don’t know PM Dawn for anything else, you definitely remember how the smooth, gentle, melodic sounds their popular songs: Set Adrift on Memory Bliss and a song on the chart topping “Boomerang” soundtrack (I’d Die With You) played with your heart and tickled your senses.
As if it wasn’t enough that a hot “Spandau Ballet” original was given top notch spin when PM Dawn sampled their hit 80s song True-set beneath their #1 Billboard hit Set Adrift on Memory Bliss mixed with (ironically-a song we were just mentioning yesterday: Erik B. and Rakim’s Paid in Full) no heartbreaking scene was set perfectly and felt so ‘true’ to the lyrics, melody and moment like PM Dawn’s “I’d Die Without You” in one of my favorite movies-the 1992 hit movie Boomerang (starring Eddie Murphy and Halle Berry , co starring: David Alan Grier, Halle Berry, Martin Lawrence, Robin Givens, John Witherspoon, Grace Jones and Eartha Kitt)

Lead singer Attrell Cordes a.k.a “Prince Be” along with his brother Jarrett started PM Dawn in the late 80s and had gone on to release 3 more albums before the pair parted ways (musically).
I’m sad to report that “Prince Be” 46, died yesterday in his home state at a New Jersey hospital reportedly from renal kidney disease and complications with diabetes, as confirmed by his reps.
Cordes is survived by his wife Mary and his 3 children Christian, Brandon, and Mia.
According to their website, ironically, the meaning of “PM Dawn” was inspired from the idea that ” [clickandtweet handle=”” hashtag=”” related=”” layout=”” position=””]In the darkest hour comes the light “[/clickandtweet]
[clickandtweet handle=”” hashtag=”” related=”” layout=”” position=””]Attrell Cordes of PM Dawn will be missed as we set adrift a memory bliss as well[/clickandtweet].
They were a memorable contribution of 90s music.
So sad that 'Prince Be' Attrell Cordes from PM Dawn has passed! R.I.P.

My favorite PM Dawn song is My Own Personal Gravity. Starts with a Peanuts sample and captures exactly how adolescence feels.

Rest in peace.
