The Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige has been fully focused-working on new music in a change of scenery and creative space for some time now: London.
She recently summoned Guy and Howard Lawrence (of “Disclosure”), Stay British singer Sam Smith, consulted with the songwriting of Jimmy Napes for her new project appropriately titled: London Sessions. She fell in love with London.
Today, Mary shared the first single “Right Now,” which is a mix of Disclosure’s dance-pop style intertwined with Blige’s R&B soulful style that we’ve all grown to know and love.
J. Blige has previously worked with Disclosure-having lay vocals on an alternative version of their Settle highlight: “F For You” (earlier this year).
“Right Now” was co-written by Smith and Napes.
Mary’s album is set for a November release!
