Kimora Lee Simmons: fashion model, fashion mogul, philanthropist, mom, and Life in the Fab Lane reality show star is about to help make someone(s) dream a reality by offering a $1 million dollar scholarship for students interested in pursing a career in fashion.
Specifically for students of FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) and FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) the scholarship will go to support + facilitate a wide variety of opportunities she didn’t have-having entered the fashion/modeling at the ripe young age of just 13:
“This is like wish fulfillment on my end, to tap into that formal education. I never had someone put money into my career or my business—it’s very tough out there, and it will never get any easier!”
In addition to the benefits of the scholarship, the recipients will also get a chance to work up close and personal with Kimora by interning for her KLS collection.
“For me, there’s so many young people who I feel like don’t have a voice. I hope these scholarships will give access to that untapped talent, to tell the next Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, or Narciso Rodriguez that we believe in them.”
