You know, things like this don’t happen that often and sometimes, all it takes is for somebody to remind you of the you that once was, or the goodness in you to spark and fire that creates change in you.
Psychologically speaking, once those kinds of things are put to you as the mirror to your face (versus hate, berating etc)., if you go back to being the person you were or [go back to] doing the kinds of things (that lead you to the courtroom), your subconscious will always remind you of that very moment somebody saw the good in you, and was merciful towards you (as much as she could lawfully be).
