Eminem drops “Phenomenal” today-his first single off the soundtrack of “Southpaw” by which the rapper is executive producer [of].
Reportedly, “Slim Shady” was penciled to star in the movie but whatever became of that is a mystery. It’s no secret however that the streets have been waiting to hear from the phenomenal rapper and lyricist for quite a while now, and word has that his full album is slated to drop the same day as the movie: July 24.
“We have been involved in developing Southpaw since its inception and Eminem has dedicated himself to ensuring that this film captured his passion for the project through his music. We’ve assembled a great soundtrack to accompany what’s sure to be one of the finest boxing films ever,” said Shady Records’ President Paul Rosenberg.
Although light-footed with his presence, and as we saw in Eight Mile-not too bad an actor either; we’ll just assume that this time around rather than playing a role [in the film] Em decided to hang back and do what he does best: music.

There’s never been a question about any of Eminem’s songs lacking passion, so we’re sure the soundtrack will not lack passion no less than expected and as always delivered.
