“I Wanna Be Down” singer Brandy took it below the mean streets of the concrete jungle where while riding the subway, she strummed up a bit of an impromptu abstract for the New Yorkers riding along.
Currently starring on Broadway in Chicago as “Roxie Hart,” music’s “vocal bible” ’s shows have been so solid that she was leadeth into extended pass-tures and will therefore; be selling more tickets to the pleased “Chicago” audience as her extended stay lends itself through August (rather than June 21st as originally planned).
Well from the sounds of things, Brandy’s got herself a shoe-in (perhaps) as “Dorothy” for the upcoming production of “The Wiz” (if she wants it).
The songbird took a moment to express her wishing to be home which lead the cargoers into a song from “The Wiz,” [called]: “Home”-the movie/play’s finale song (blown to the GODs by Stephanie Mills’ R&B version, and Diana Ross’ movie version) but now commandeered by Brandy (and her subway version).
