Times have changed and when Prince made Darling Nikki (circa mid 80s), seeing Nikki “grind” meant just what it was: Gyrating and as per Prince-masturbating in a magazine (when he met “Nikki”). He sang [that she asked] “ ‘how’d you like to waste some time’ and I could not resist when I saw little Nikki grind.”
Fast forward.
It’s 2015 now and another Nicki’s grind was peeped by Beyonce yet, this time around, “grind” means an altogether different thing and this is what Beyonce (now) sings:

I met her in the studio lobby but her booty looked bigger in the magazines
