Beyonce pulled yet, another “Beyonce”: Blessed the cover and pages of yet, another magazine, less—an interview.
Shot by Ryan McGinley in the Hamptons for The Beat, the mag’lusive singing powerhouse is adorned a in patriotic bathing suit and red riding hood jacket-modeling in front of the American flag-giving nothing but sass and leaving no notes for its writer which with to work from, and toll her presence (aside from the cover shoot pic itself) by which the writer (Michael Cragg) had to get creative:
Beyoncé.
BEYONCÉ.
BEY-ON-CÉ.
YONCÉ.
B.
You know those times in your life where you think, ‘Blimey, imagine if blah blah blah happened’ and then you laugh at yourself because actually ‘blah blah blah’ is a pipe dream. People will tell you ‘blah blah blah’ is never going to happen because it’s such an outlandish idea. But still, it niggles away at you because while the world keeps turning and maybe you’ve somehow earned good karma or some shit, ‘blah blah blah’ could still happen. In theory at least.
Well theory be damned because BEAT magazine – this free music paper that started out as a fanzine in a window-less basement in east London – has made one of its ’blah blah blahs’ happen.
Ladies and gentleman. Pray silence and please be upstanding for the actual BEYONCÉ on the cover of the new issue of BEAT.
JUST LOOK AT IT.
Shot by Ryan McGinley in the Hamptons, the cover, as you can see, encapsulates everything everyone loves about Beyoncé: (Sasha) Fierce. Unfeasibly, almost disarmingly, cool. Strong. Bold. Empowered. An American fucking idol.
LOOK AT IT AGAIN.
AND AGAIN.
The issue’s out on October 21 from all the usual places – it’s also available here, along with back-issues, if you can’t be bothered to find a stockist or they have all gone before you get there.
She sneezed on the BEAT and the BEAT got sicker…
(FYI don’t forget to come back for more soon!)
Beyonce’s becoming world renown for brevity around these shiny, page-turning parts and although she (like in her own words) did indeed “sneeze on The Beat,” this time however, the beat got…..sicker quicker.
That said, who shall:
..Be
..Bey’s first to
…Breakthrough the
…Brevity and get an interview?
