While some argue that taking a baby for ear piercing is the equivalent to taking a baby to get a tattoo, others argue that cross cultures, especially in South America, ear piercing is the cultural norm.

While I’m against government stepping in to personal lives, should making such painful, “perm” (or permanent) decisions be unlawful?
