They say when you dream a dream, the universe conspires to make it happen. And well, singer Brandy had the dream and OSF conspired in what was already happening for her.
If you remember a couple of months ago, we put you on to something new for Brandy that (little did we know at the time even)-it had been a longtime dream of hers: to scratch doing Broadway off her bucket list.
Well that dream was awakened when Brandy secured the role as “Roxie Hart” in the hit Broadway smash “Chicago” (in New York).
You remember (for couple of weeks before April 28 showtime) this backdrop staring you in the face at logon to OSF:
We’re in the well-wishes and blessings business of business during all our infoprenuer’s blogdvertising and what a joy it is to see when the bright lights at Other Side of the Fame shine down on who, or what’s been premiered, advertised, or written up here at OSF.
Having been in the game for 20+ years now (acting and singing); added to her repertoire now: Broadway.
Along with supporters like her “The Game” costar Wendy Racquel Robinson a.k.a Tasha Mack:
…obviously bring in the chaper for the Playbill, Brandy is making some serious noise with her role on-painting the town of the Big Apple red with her presence.
Reportedly, her April 28-June 21st Broadway run was extended through August!
That’s right.
So if between now and then you touch down in the concrete jungle of NYC, head on over to see B-Rocka do her thing!
If by some chance you don’t make it, you can share her experience and the love via Twitter by typing hashtag #BrandyAsRoxieHart
In the meantime, in spirit of her great news, rock out to all of Broadway’s feel-good song: “Broadway” by the original DonDada of it (George Benson).
The song is sang in many-a-rehearsals and on many-a-Broadway stages whose lyrics feel and mean whole lot to the Broadway community.
