KANYE WEST: With Foot in the Door of Fashion and Refusing to Fail -Drops New Single + Album Cover Art and Title: ‘So Help Me God’

Kanye WestKanye is going through a weird but winning period in his life right now where he’s in preparation for a new album to drop (date unknown—he says dropping album release dates is “played out”).

Just wait on it.

As well, Kanye going through one of the most happiest times in his life too: having evolved from mere sneaker foot fashion [via brandmakers-like Nike-he wanted in on and who would not accept him] to going places where he was embraced and found the petty-cure for his ailing desire to break into fashion: Adidas .

Onward and upward, the rap music producer, turned rap artist, turned “Amber Rose” maker, turned Kim Kardashian boyfriend, turned fashion designer Riccardo Tisci chum, turned North West’s father, turned Kim’s husband, turned fashion designer himself—refused to lose.

JEREMY SCOTT Fall 2015 Fashion ShowIn ironic twists of “artistry” and art imitating life, the Kanye West (that broke out on the rap music mid Millienum with “College Dropout”) rapped songs life “Jesus Walks,” “Golddigger” and “Good Life”—laced with relatable like: “they made us hate ourselves and love their wealth” (“All Falls Down”)

Well, such is life now-nearly ten years later as we’ve all watched Kanye morph from relating to the plight of his early raps to being just person—as he already told warned you “We-all self-conscious I’m just the first to admit it.”

Love him or hate him-who this ‘Kanye’ is today, he warned us all-the plight of the person he once rapped about was in him all the time.

So:

……if you’re reading [into] this it’s too late.

Life is imitating art:

Kanye is now fighting creating his way into breaking into fashion with his idea of what fashion feels and looks like to our generation which, to the fashion elite is fashionably and unconventionally questionable, but that’s doesn’t stop Kanye.

Love him or hate him-at the end of the date (or disdain) he did the important thing: got his name, fashion line (+ new Adidas shoe) on that New York Fashion Week roster and premiered his vision—despite some of fashion’s elite turning a deaf and blind ear to it; the show still went on. Whether she loved it or hated it, Vogue’s Anna Wintour even sat there and gave it a look.

Fashion Week’s creator, Fern Mallis however, held no punches as she publicly gutted Kanye in an interview she did with The Post while at Jeremy Scott’s show where she stated she was [quote]: “kind of over Kanye.” [unquote].

She continued:

“I mean, I’m not a fan of his music, and the attitude and the agenda is not my style,” Mallis expressed.fernkanye

The next morning, Kanye went on a Twitter rant (replying, then deleting, then re-posting)-expressing how despite not being fully embraced in fashion, he will not be stopped and will continue to create despite the “bigotry” he says he’s experienced [while trying to climb the ranks of the fashion industry].

Later, Mallis heard about the tweets and wanted to assure him she wasn’t blasting his talent—just his diva behavior:

“I just really was responding to being over the frenzy that accompanies everything. I did not see the collection. I wasn’t invited to the show. And if he wants to design and do something, that’s great. The industry will respond accordingly.”

She continued:

“But there’s an attitude . . . it’s the aura that baffles me. I wasn’t commenting on his collection at all.”

Perhaps she viewed Kanye’s climb and fight to be accepted into the industry as entitlement over passion-who knows. Fashion is a tough crowd. Even his friend Riccard Tisci refused to accept his wife Kim until Kanye gradually brought her in. Tisci made no excuses about what he and the industry felt about their disinterest Kim or dressing her).

So Kanye knows all too well…vg9Bj8S5_400x400

But on the brightside of it all, on February 19, he got the seal of approval in fashion by Steve Kolb- CEO of Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) who stated:

For the record I am ok w #KanyeWest attending #NYFW. He’s serious about learning and being part of our industry. & I like his music too.

Well from the looks of things, Kanye is cleaning up his act (and diva attitude).

Just a few days ago, he publicly apologized to Beck for his recent Grammy tirade:

He also publicly apologized to having dissed the talented Bruno Mars (how could anyone?)

All his ducks are in a row.

The humbled Kanye West did a BBC Radio One interview with Zane Lowe where (around the 25:00 mark) he cried while talking about his mentor and friend British fashion designer professor Louise Wilson (who passed away last May).

So help him God, the Jesus Walks rapper dropped the title [and cover art?] of his upcoming album:

It’s all come full circle now, and although people are questioning the album’s cover art (by which I instantly thought looked like four astrological symbols for Virgo) Kanye yet again-got everybody’s attention; putting everyone on alert that despite no album date to pin him to-simply anticipate its coming which too, will include his new single he just performed at the Brit Awards All Day:

…and so the rap music producer, turned rap artist, turned “Amber Rose” maker, turned Kim Kardashian boyfriend, turned fashion designer Riccardo Tisci chum, turned North West’s father, turned Kim’s husband, turned fashion designer himself who refuses to lose-is onward and upward, All Day: in deed, indeed.
