Rumor has it that funny Lady: Melissa McCarthy will be returning back to Saturday Night Live Super Bowl weekend for its episode scheduled to air on February 1. If so, this will be her third time hosting the show.
When I said “rumor has it” I meant it. The NBC representative that leaked the information to The Wrap couldn’t confirm McCarthy’s booking, however, had it on good word that she may indeed be hosting on the coveted, big weekend.
The musical guest slated to perform on that same show has yet to be announced.
It is a definite go that Jonah Hill will host the January 25 show and the musical band scheduled to perform is a Brit band called Bastille.
As you may well know (and as OSF we reported), the first show of this 2014 year and season is scheduled for January 18-to be hosted by rapper Drake. Additionally, the big day also welcomes Sasheer Zamata as its first black female cast member since the departure of Maya Rudolph some four years ago.
As well, for that January 18th show, Drake will double duty as host + musical guest.
