One thing’s for certain and two-for sure-is that Nicole Richie has been getting her life after a long hiatus from the spotlight since Paris, The Simple Life, (married life) and bringing new life into the world.
After having her Lil’ Mama moment last weekend on stage while 2/3rd of the group TLC (Chili and TBoz) performed Waterfalls at the Baby2Baby gala, Nicole Richie has officially come out of obscurity and is having loads of fun, I tell ya.
For the record, if you don’t know what a “Lil’ Mama” moment is, that was a moment that went down in popular culture history where Alicia Keys and Jay Z were performing [their hit at the time]: “New York” and rapper{slash}So You Think You Can Dance? Judgementor: Lil’ Mama (a New York native herself) got so inspired and excited that she hopped up on the stage and just started going IN…as if it was apart of the performance and plan—but it wasn’t…she was just feeling it!
Needless to say, Lil’ Mama endured tons of ridicule for her stage-bomb moment, but I thought it was hilarious!
Say what you want to say-but every meme you see floating across the Internet was birthed after Lil’ Mama’s stage-bomb moment, I assure you.
Fast forward.
Although Jay Z and Alicia weren’t too happy about Lil’ Mama’s moment, Chili and TBoz took Nicole Richie’s moment-stage-bombing them-all in stride, and it’s been on from there for Nicole.
Last night, Nicole, looking stylish in an army-green jacket-dress and nude chunky-strapped heel, hosted VH1’s You Oughta Know live in concert event held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York…
….where she later took to the stage [as her alter-ego “Nikki Fresh”] with rapper Treach (Naughty By Nature) and rocked out with him [as her hype-man].
Other celebs who attended the event (inspired by VH1’s snippet commercial previews of up and coming artists that eventually turned into a music event and festival featuring new artists and covers of seasoned artists) were the legendary:
Chaka Khan (presenting), Alicia Keys (presenting), Nick Jonas (presenting), Nick Lachey and others (presenting).

VH1 is also the home of where Nicole Richie will air the second season of her reality show called Candidly Nicole (which premiers next year-2015).
