The reality is, while you have the right to feel what you feel, say, (and sing) what you want to sing-you have to do it on your own maverick, by your own watch, and at risk of your own individual reputation.
On [Founder’s Day of what would have been a celebration for the 159th anniversary for Sigma Alpha Epsilon] some University of Oklahoma sappy frat members congregating and chanting to the tune of “If You’re Happy and You Know It” remixed it to the tune of:
“There will never be a nig*** in SAE” / you can hang them from a tree, but they’ll never sign with me.”
…and just like that, your 10 seconds of fame shame is over-especially when your frat is made possible by way of, and is a part of a college University by which you are associated—University of Oklahoma in this case.
The video was captured by an Oklahoma University alliance of black students whose premise and mission is to organize and champion change within campus administration and atmosphere. By way of “OU Unheard” this is what went viral, was seen, (and heard):
Racism is alive at The University of Oklahoma. @President_Boren pic.twitter.com/eAvnPD8jxA
— Unheard (@OU_Unheard) March 8, 2015
The chapter and the chapter’s president got involved (after being tweeted):
@Melyssious The chapter has immediately been placed on a cease & desist. No place for racism. They will be dealt with!

Sigma Alpha Epsilon is aware of the video and is both shocked and appalled at what we have seen. (Cont)

After thousands of tweets made way to the University’s president David Boren, he tweeted:
If the video is indeed of OU students, this behavior will not be tolerated and is contrary to all of our values. We are investigating. – DBo

Thank all of you who came to the rally this morning to demonstrate the true values of our university. -DBo

The University’s president asserts that the persons in the video were acting [quote] “in a reprehensible and disgraceful way”[unquote] and (as you read) announced the closing of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon local chapter. And so ends their story and 10 seconds of shame.
As well, rapper “Waka Flocka Flame” who was scheduled to performing on the campus next month canceled, with this note to toll his reason:

With regard to sanctions for this issue: in addition to the local chapter being suspended, the member of the fraternity have been asked to move out by midnight tomorrow (March 10, 2015).
