ABC News anchor, Peter Jennings, succumbed to lung cancer at his home in New York this today, ten years ago, at the age of 67.
The Canadian-born, well-respected journalist and the most recognized voice of ABC began reporting news for the station in 1964 and forty years ongoing through to his final sign-off in 2006.
In 2006, from the desk where he sat for many years to report the news of the world; Peter took some time out to let the world in on his world: That he was battling lung cancer.

Jennings last sat in as senior editor and anchor of World News Tonight beginning 1983 and is world renown for reporting some of the most monumental events that colored, shaped
