As you may well know of my love for The Wiz is unwavering and applicable in so many way of life. It’s premise has the most inspirational message wrapped up in
a full on excursion among accidental friends: Dorothy and her dog Toto (needing to go home), The Scarecrow (needing a brain), the Tin Man (needing heart), and the Lion (needing courage).
The kindred spirits connected and through song and dance while in search of finding what the all felt they were missing after being told that the one and only way to get what each needed was by way of “The Wiz.”
If you follow me consistently, you know my spiel on the number “1” (and my disbelief in adhering to being told there is only one way to, through or at something or someone).
I call any person, group of people (or mob) trying to convince me that it or they (only) is the only truth, light, and way “Wizzes.”
Because as I evolved and triumphed over some situations (and was challenged or failed at others), I always failed hardest when I convinced myself that it, or they were the ONLY 1 way for me.
When I began to realized that the number “1” is a sacred, omnipotent thing (and didn’t see those obstacles as anything remotely close to “sacred” and “omnipotent”), I knew that #2 was the answer as, it is divisible by everything-and you will find it when you divide what seeks to conquer you and know that it (or they) aren’t the ONLY (1) way…
When I look at “The Wiz,” it’s such a reminder of that-how these friends were on this long excursion in search of:
- Courage
- A brain
- A heart
- A home
…thinking that the only way to get either was through one thing (“The Wiz”) when the fact of the matter is: Each had it all along (and had even been using what they thought they were in search of, all long).
Such is life.
Never make people and situations a “Wiz.”
Like in the movie, throughout their whole excursion “The Wiz” screamed, and frightened and lured with this powerful
