Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg who reportedly “treated” Prince on April 7, as well “treated” Prince on April 20 (the day before he died) and is under investigation by the DEA.
Truthfully speaking, less Simmons’ choice of word “pathetic,” I can’t say that his statement is as half-cocked as it seems (and this-coming from a die hard fan of Prince who’s gutted that he died).
Perhaps Simmons use of the word “pathetic” was used as a ‘sorry way to go out’-given Prince’s talent being much greater than his fame and money.
He does however, make a good point in saying that after getting what you asked for-on such a atypical level and a level that very few can reach; why ruin it, and especially ruin yourself over something so typical and beneath your greatness?
As harsh as the word “pathetic” came across, aside from that, I too, can’t lie and say that I’m not very disappointed that Prince went out in this low-level manner (by comparison to his greatness). Although I want to follow that by including “+ how much he was loved by the world,” from his perspective “the world” and the people in it (probably seemed to) have a different kind of ‘love’ that somebody like him would need. I get that.
Loved for being famous with famous talent that moved and touch people who don’t know you-is not the same as being loved personally.
Omitting the word “pathetic”-I can’t lie as, as things are unfolding daily, all my shock and sadness about it is now intertwined with anger, hurt, and upset (too)-with a strong curiosity about all these people claiming to be friends, best friends and all other kinds of closeness to the man. How did not ONE iota of a rumor seep through the cracks and go floating around in all these years of various generations of Prince fans? How did we never even hear whispers or rumors of
