Last week, all the hoop-la (literally) was about LeBron James, King James (or however you wish to worship him), as fans all around the world awaited his decision as to whether or not he would stay in Miami as Heat teammate (as he had been for the past four years), or if he would make the controversial decision to return home to Cleveland (where it all began in 2010-and he disappointed them when he chose Miami).
As we all know by now, James’ decision created more hoop-la that, along with his answer (quote): “I’m go home,” (unquote), his decision and answer could have practically been followed by theme music of a Kenny Loggins classic whose bridge to the chorus [around the :57 sec of the song] says: “Please, celebrate me home. Give me a number please….celebrate me home”–very befitting of the situation at hand I tell ya.
Well this week, James is facing another dilemma: he’s having a hard time trying to decide on picking a number for his new jersey [after being celebrated home, already].
As you may well know, ‘23’ was the number James wore during his first stint as a Cavalier and too, he wore that same number back in his St. Vincent-St. Mary High School days.
When LeBron stepped his game up and took his talent to South Beach, he changed his jersey to the number ‘6.’
This past Friday however-a few days after his decision-James took to Twitter and Instagram asking his followers for help with choosing a number.
Well, now that he’s been celebrated home, I’m guessing we can let Kenny croon the rest of the theme song and tune: “Give me a number…please.”
So…*as I say it like a ‘Help The Children’ infomercial*
…Give him your number…please. Why don’t you…I’m just sangin’ sayin.’
