The passing of civil right activist Julian Bond has affected many in all communities: political, social, religious and otherwise. And, if anyone is deserving of a goodbye and sentiment: “rest in power,” it certainly would be Bond as everything about Julian Bond was indeed “Bond”: his life, his ties, and his word.
A lifelong civil rights leader, Julian Bond’s name and presence stood at the front lines of ending apartheid, segregation and championing civil rights, education, voting rights, marriage equality and a plethora of causes and stances in the fight and plight of the human condition and rights.
