If you’re like me, you probably only have 3 uses for that square orange box that you tend to buy quite a few of and get a burst of excitement when they go on sale:
- whiten teeth
- leave open in the fridge
- hard water softener with laundry detergent
…but did you know that Baking Soda has more uses than those 3 uses. Check’em out:
Make a Face Mask.
Mix 1 or 2 tablespoons of baking soda with the juice from half a lemon and a squirt or two of honey.
Apply mixture face, let sit for about 15 minutes, rinse. Viola! Glowing complexion.
Clean Produce.
Mix with water and use the paste to scrub produce from the supermarket clean. (Leaves your produce free of pesticides)
Freshen The Air.
Mix 2 cups of water with 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 15 to 20 drops of your favorite essential oil e.g: lavender or eucalyptus oil for a custom room spray.
Treat Bug Bites.
Create a paste with water. Dad dab it on bug bites and bee stings to ease pain, itching and swelling. (Also works on sunburns).
Sop Up Oil Spills.
Garage oil or any kind of on your favorite pair of pants–sprinkle baking soda on the spot to help absorb the oil
Clean Your Teeth.
In a pinch, mix baking soda with water to create a paste and brush away (for whiter teeth)
Deodorize Your Carpet
Awesome tip for dog owners: Sprinkle baking soda on the rug and let it sit one hour before vacuuming (then vaccum).
