41 year-old deputy is fighting for his life and is currently in critical condition. Another deputy, 51, suffered non life threatening injuries, as did another 41 year-old officer.

Superintendent of state police Col. Michael Edmonson believes that Gavin Long was indeed the shooter that killed 3 of their own however, two other persons believed to have acted in concert with Long are considered “persons of interest.”
This shooting took place this morning at around 8:40 a.m. at Hammond Aire Shopping Center-about less than a mile from police headquarters.
