Ok…so…I’m a little confused here–and this is where semantics come into play when trying to understand something said (or in this case): reported.
It is being reported that legendary singer Diana Ross will “perform” at her son (actor) Evan Ross’ wedding [to “Pieces of Me” singer Ashlee Simpson].
Now…it’s not unusual for someone to “sing” at ones wedding. But when someone as big as Ross is singing at your wedding—that’s pretty big [whether it be her son’s or down the road to her next door neighbor’s wedding].
That being said, someone as big and legendary as Diana Ross doesn’t necessarily “sing” [at a wedding]-because she is a “performer” [as well]…so perhaps maybe that’s why it is being reported that she is to “perform at her son’s wedding?”
I dunno.
Your guess is as good as mine-however, sources say that the legendary performer will be joined onstage by her daughter Rhonda Ross Kendrick to sing [perform] while Evan and Ashlee exchange vows at either Diana Ross’ Connecticut or Los Angeles mansion.
Among the guests slated to attend the nuptials are fellow music legends Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson.
This will be Evan Ross’ first wedding and Ashlee Simpson’s second.
(Not pictured here), but she was first married to Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz from 2008-2011. The two have a six-year old son: Bronx Mowgli (pictured here).
The extravaganza [wedding] between she and Evan is said to be August 14, 2014—we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, then.
Diana Ross is true trooper…
…so singing at a wedding is nothing but applesauce to a boss.
She notoriously made headlines all across the world and is remarked in popular culture history as having continued performing in the pouring rain and braving the elements in a July 1983 concert in New York/Central Park. So performing when, and where there’ll be sun and rice should be no problem for the legendary songstress who braved wind and rain-singing.
Don’t believe me? Just watch:

P.s
Join Other Side of the Fame in bidding the happy couple wedded bliss. Evan’s body language in all pics I’ve seen of him with Ashlee–looks like he’s really “interested” + loves her.
Best wishes for them!
