What PULITZER PRIZE Winning RONAN FARROW and KENDRICK LAMAR Have in Common

When Not Good Enough for the Goose Is Ultimately Greater for the Gander.

 

Congrats is in order for two different people by way two different reasons methods but one thing in common: Art imitating life.

Rap artist Kendrick Lamar is rap’s first artist to with the Pulitzer prize for music-a prestigious honor typically won by classical of jazz.

Ronan Farrow was the winner for journalism-specifically his expose that broke the Harvey Weinstein scandal that ultimately was the spark that lit the flame for the #MeToo movement.

Both Ronan and Kendrick have both experience rejection of sorts in their respective fields: The Grammy’s (Kendrick) and Grammy’s misunderstanding of and (pretty much) refusing to accept rap as an art form once upon a time.

Reportedly, Ronan’s expose on Weinstein was rejected by NBC and ultimately picked up by The New Yorker. That expose is now the winner of a 2018 Pulitzer.

Both these stories should inspire you to keep going!

One’s trash is another’s treasure.
