{AngFrankPodcast Show}: VANESSA WILLIAMS 32 Years Later: A Scandal Come Full Circle – Once Judged Now She’ll Be The Judge

gone into the kind of obscurity [that many go into even without scandals] yet, Williams continued to make her mark in the industry regardless.

“We recognize that Vanessa’s return to Miss America on Sunday, September 13th is a special cultural and television moment,” president Mike Mahan of Dick Clark Productions said.

Over the years since the scandal, former Miss Americas have indeed returned to the yearly pageants (as honored guests).

Vanessa Williams made history in not only being the “first black ‘Miss America’ (1983)” but too, whose talent overshadowed her scandal such that she is still significant today-in 2015 (for more than just a nude scandal).

Having walked that very same stage at Boardwalk Convention Hall when she, herself-was crowned that September 1983 day, (given the past) this is certainly something that understandably would tug at ones “comfort zone” long buried but superseded by success and “saved the best for last”: Returning with “work to do”—judging other hopefuls who are now where was she was once was (literally).
