Just a couple weeks ago, Selena Gomez abruptly canceled the last 13 shows of her tour which was the Asian and Australian leg of it. She offered no excuse, other than the fact that she wanted to “take some time out for herself.”
In addition to assuring ticket holders they would be able to get a refund for their tickets, she stated: “My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them,” she said in a statement released by Live Nation to the media. “But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be. To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me.”
About a week after, Selena was photographed at home holding her mom’s new baby and she posted:

Rumors had been circulating.
First, rumor had it that Selena was bound for re-hab after suffering a breakdown and then too, she began to look as though she had picked up some weight. Turns out, she was suffering the effects of the autoimmune disease called Lupus.
Selena, 21,was diagnosed with Lupus a couple of years ago and just recently had suffered multiple “flareups” which caused facial swelling, extreme fatigue, headaches and joint pain.
A source told a website that Selena had been working and performing non-stop over the past two years and her Lupus was catching up to her and needed to take some time off to address the disease and look after herself if she wanted to live a healthy life. Additionally, they assured our sources that she was not having a breakdown but wanted to be the healthiest she could be which meant she needed to take a little break and right now, she is doing just that.
