OPRAH’s 8-Day #BeliefSeries | What Does #Belief Mean To You?

it through this world without incident.

But if we (as adults) believe things that aren’t in accordance with what our society/world, and what our individual surroundings agree with or by what the majority deems “normal,” then isolation and ridicule etc. is the punishment we receive (for what we believe).

For example: It’s okay for a kid to sit in front of the chimney by the tree and wait for Santa Claus (until he/she falls asleep). By the time they wake up—we can give them a big, grand fairy tale about how Santa came and left presents/. We can allow them to chomp on the remaining cookies (we claim “Santa” left). That’s “acceptable.”

But as an adult, you can’t sit in front of the chimney and tree waiting for Santa because you are not supposed to believe in Santa [like you did as a child]…that’s considered “abnormal.”

That being explained, when you look to WHAT PEOPLE BELIEVE…(and think…and feel…) you tend to learn more about them from the core.

Oprah’s #BeliefSeries (beliefin3words.com) asks questions of yourself and her guests about what they belief about a particular thing (e.g, love, God, sacred, forgiveness etc).

glitter gold starIn the bigger schema of things (for me), when all is (literally) said and all is (literally) done, I’m only concerned with what leads and led me to peace. That’s it. And as long as I got there without compromising what I truly feel, what I truly think and what I truly believe; then that is when I will know for sure that I have (truly) loved, and (truly) lived. Until then, I am just exploring, juggling and redeeming my options, sailing through and feeling my way.

These kinds of things are so totally up my alley because despite what I have to do in order to be IN the world and apart OF the world, I’m disconnected in areas of what’s material, and superficial. But I know how to play the role. Truthfully, innately, and personally though, I’m just…so not worldly and “of” the world. I’m SO aware that I am a living, breathing and walking contradiction yet, it’s not a contradiction-at all once you get to “me” away from the world. I am more interested in “texture” (than material), more interested in what’s beyond the surface (than superficial), and what can be discovered, or explored (versus what I’m told to believe about a person, place or a thing).

All that said, I’ve been intently into her #BeliefStories and was quite in awe about how some of her guest spots believed some of the things I believe and WHY. Like Jay Z’s (Masterclass) belief about God. Without getting too deep and theological, my basic understanding about “God” is basically what [a] God is: Lord over all that’s material and tangible and too, because of (and because other than the fact that it just is) science and man still can’t explain WHY when it comes to functions ofJay Z oprah belief stories
