Orlando LGBT Pulse Nightclub Shooter, 29 Year-Old Omar Mateen Allegedly Affiliated with ISIS – Rick Scott Declares State of Emergency

a “domestic terror incident” while Florida Department of Law is investigating the shooting as an “act of terrorism” –pending determination as domestic or international.

Although officials tweeted updates, it wasn’t until around 5:48 a.m. around the suspects approximate time of death that this hostage situation and “incident” turned into a mass casualty situation.

A “controlled explosion” near the shooting scene was described as a detonated device intended to distract the shooter.

Although this shooting just so happened to have happened shortly after pop singer Christina Grimmie was gunned down in Orlando as well, officials want to make it clear that [given the fact that the shooting to place in a gay club that blatantly bills itself as “Orlando’s Premier Gay Night Club”] the place and time was no coincidence [and that] this situation is ideologically motivated (vs. the lone crazed fanatic who acted on his own when he killed Grimmie).

A “State of Emergency” was declared in Orange County, Florida by Gov. Rick Scott as this was [quote] “clearly an act of terror” [end quote]. Declaring “state of emergency” ensures the resources needed by the city are made available immediately.

Orlando Hospital beds waiting

After 2 a.m. this morning, Orlando Regional Medical Center was placed on lockdown after having received several gunshot victims. Arnold Palmer and Winner Palmer hospitals were also placed on lockdown, too, whereby only essential workers were allowed access to the facilities.

A special hotline is set up for family members missing loved one whom they suspect might have been at the club and not yet publicly identified:
