Olympic Medalist GABBY DOUGLAS & Family Score New Reality Show on OXYGEN

Just add water reality:

While reality shows entertain the masses and are all the wave (and talent and skill’s answer to doing away with needing it and keeping mediocrity’s hope alive, thriving and making a living), it’s even better when reality shows give the weekly back story of the talented folks of it (whose back story we’d all like to know-there actually isn’t enough of that).

Even despite all the juicy drama and life dynamics we love to voyeur into, at least [reality shows with character’s with back stories] can serve a dose of inspiration, (or even lesson/s on what not to do if your were you).

Up next to try her hand is 19 year-old Olympic women’s gymnastics champion Gabrielle Douglas.

In addition to her family (and co-produced by Gabrielle Douglas and her mother Natalie Hawkins), the defending, all around Olympic gold medalist will debut their reality show later this year on the Oxygen channel under the tentative title: “Douglas Family Gold.”

The shows premise will follow Douglas on her (real life) quest to become the first gymnast in 50 years to repeat as an Olympic champion-complimented by the fact that she became the first African American to win the all-around title when while apart of the “Fierce Five” during the 2012 London Games-winning the gold medal.

Last summer, Douglas returned to training and finished 4th at the Jesolo Cup in Italy just this last weekend—her first meet since winning in the 2012 games.

As a part of her new upcoming reality show, perhaps we’ll get to see footage? Hmm. We’ll just have to wait and see!
