LAURYN HILL Laced LETTERMAN Stage in First Televised Performance in Three Years

 download (2) Fifty years ago, February 7, 1964, four men from Liverpool took America by its red, white and blue stripes with their very first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show (which was in the same studio where talk show host David Letterman tapes his nightly shows to date).

In celebration of that,  David Letterman took the time out to honor the legendary bands’ 50th U.S debut anniversary and to celebrate, he invited some of music’s most legendary artists to perform [their songs] on his show.

One legend in her own right was invited: non other than Miss Lauryn Hill, performing the legendary band’s 1969 hi: “Something.”

This appearance was also notable because it also marked her very first televised performance in over three years!

Miss Hill ended the celebratory-filled week that included other performances by Sting, Broken Bells, Lenny Kravitz, and the Flaming Lips feat. Sean Lennon (Beatles member John Lennon’s son).
