Besides the slithering of Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” on to the MTV stage for this year’s VMA’s airing August 24, there’s another interesting twist occurring:

Kelly Rowland-both, former Destiny’s Child group members-will be competing for the same award for Best Video with a Social Message: Beyonce-Pretty Hurts and Kelly-Dirty Laundry.
Although the “Dirty Laundry” singer has stood alongside her sister in song many-a-years on MTV’s stage accepting awards for concerted efforts and having denied any rivalry with Beyonce’ Rowland says to our source “I want that award!”
Other artists up for the award include rapper Angel Haze-Battle Cry, rapper J. Cole-Crooked Smile, singer David Guetta-One Voice, and Avicii-Hey Brother.
My prediction?
Beyonce’s going to be a no-show (anyways?–all controversies considered?) and Kelly’s going to win the award (or possibly J. Cole for “Crooked Smile”–yeah..he’ll win this one. That song was all over the place!).
Regardless the outcome, Rowland is pretty excited about the video award and expressed: “As much as you’re able to have the gift of music to share with people, when you’re able to connect the visuals together [through the video], it just makes it even more magical.”
As you may well know, the former Destiny Child is currently with-child, and just returned home from a Puerto Rican vacay and R & R with her hubby Tim Witherspoon.
Dressed in comfy cropped jeans, a spandex tank, and a pair of slip-in sneakers, Kelly, (with a smile brighter than and a baby bump almost big as the sun) was spotted in West Hollywood hand-in-hand with her husband.
The mom to be definitely walks her talk as, when it comes to fashion, she encourages all moms to be to be to be more comfortably dressed while with-child. As well while in preparation for the birth of her child she intends to follow the advice she was given by a friend [who told her]: “The best thing to do is focus on that husband! You got the baby, but focus on your husband just to make sure he is happy… because now, you have TWO babies!”
