Well-known for her unapologetic quick wit and sharp tongue, and raspy voice; Joan Rivers was reportedly rushed to the hospital after she stopped breathing while having throat surgery at a New York clinic this morning according to her Fashion Police network: E! News.

Just yesterday, Rivers visited the offices of People (magazine)-speaking with its editorial director Jess Cagle about her book Diary of a Mad Diva-just recently released in on July one by Berkley Hardcover publishers.
Currently, she and her daughter Melissa have a reality tv show on Wetv called Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best? As well, she hosts a weekly talk show in her bedroom called In Bed with Joan .
Unconventional (running a close second to her unapologetic, teetering comically offensive way) it’s not uncommon to see many of her Fashion Police female guests that interview with her-pictured sitting on top of the funny lady’s lap to strike a pose for the camera (and for her Twit pic feed as well).
Rivers’ reps haven’t said anything additional about the developing situation other than the fact that she is being cared for at Mount Sinai Hospital and currently in stable condition.
Reports are coming in stating that the “trouble breathing” was due to the fact that she went into cardiac arrest (after throat surgery).
