Turning sixteen on July 4, having gotten her driver’s license, and gone to prom this year; Malia Obama will have quite the summer job and bragging rights to add to her resume: working with Academy Award Winning actress Halle Berry.
According to The Wrap, First Daughter Malia Obama tried her hand as a production assistant in Los Angeles on the set of Berry’s new CBS sci-fi thriller Extant (produced by non-other than Steven Spielberg/Amblin Television/CBS Studios).
In the series, Halle Berry plays an astronaut who (in an effort to connect with her husband and son) returns home after a solo mission where her experiences in space and home life leads to something that ultimately will change the course of human history.
An insider on the production staff was quoted as saying: “She [Malia] helped with computer shop alignments and the director also let her slate a take.”
According to sources, she was also joined by her mom-First Lady Michelle Obama who watched her daughter assist on some reshoots of the pilot.
Sources close to the production quoted First Daughter Malia as saying: “My first time. This is a big deal!”
