BET AWARDS 2015 Winners, Noms, Shenanigans, Performances and The Night’s Marquees: RIHANNA, LIL KIM, DIDDY, NICKI MINAJ, K. MICHELLE, PATTI LABELLE, TAMAR BRAXTON, FLOYD MAYWEATHER, JANET JACKSONs TRIBUTE feat. CIARA, TINASHE, JASON DERULO & More

If you tuned in, then you know last night’s BET Awards was a gumbo of everything: there was no theme or straight-lined thing. But what you could tell was that BET wanted to get it all in about as much as the stars—and their friends…or former flings or..

Well for starters, if you didn’t know (or read our write up on what happened between Ludacris and his protégé in his group Disturbing The Peace) BET is certainly know for making sure disturbing the peace would not be an issue on their red carpets. They are good for putting that phone call in the lesser known or valued parts of celeb’s entourages, hangers on, camaraderie’s and old flames and such. So when it comes to being invited to the festivities, (obviously) they tend to place value on the great known and revered-forcing whomever was with the star to really re-think who they are (and aren’t according to BET).

Well lucky in that regard was Karrueche Tran (Chris Brown’s newly-old flame) who got a pass to walk the red carpet of BET (most probably because between the two if either bared the watchful eye and security near for potentially causing problems, it would be the star in this case: Chris Brown). All was quiet on the red carpet front as Karrueche slid on through and into the venue unscathed or bothered by Chris (however, Twitter wasn’t so gracious):

Unlucky for Nicki Minaj former flame of 10+years, hype-man, and business partner turned rapper Safaree as, even before the carpet rolled out, BET put the call in to his publicist to info him to hang back this year as, Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj of course would be coming through.

Before Safaree could even entertain the thought of sticking his chest out and getting it crunk walking the carpets at he BET Awards, he got walking papers of a different kind and posted this-a request asking that he just sit:

Life and the festivities went on with Rihanna in rare form sitting next to fighter Floyd Mayweather who, I dunno-must’ve been that Pisces thing between these two fish swimming in different directions as for some reason she felt the need to tape his mouth shut so she could enjoy the show:

Two other Pisces swimming in different directions buried their anchors of insults, Twitter disses and quips flying once upon time and instead, took to the stage to serenade and duet as proof of their truce. Divided by Gemini and OG soul/R&B singer Patti LaBelle stepping through to join the two K. Michelle and Tamar Braxton, the one time enemies mended their fences and broke the audience off something real proper-like:

Although during the BET pre-awards show festivities (somewhere around the 5:02 minute marker), K. Michelle took the mature route and called reality star Draya Michele to the carpet about Draya calling her “ugly” and other insults and disses she had gone on record as having sent across the Twitter timelines

…she didn’t make her rounds to truce-in it out with rapper Lil’ Kim whom last left (if you read our write up on these two), she had a bit of a Twitter spat with-no make up, sit down, truce, or serenade in sight for those two however. Lil’ Kim was most probably the least bit bothered about coming from beneath she and K. Michelle’s wrangle. But what she did do last night was rise straight from to the occasion from under the BET stage–reintroducing herself to the world again as she came in (in ’97): Squatted down, legs open as if “hello” to the rap world when she dropped the promo poster for us to her debut CD “Hardcore”

The rapping starlet who once caused a bit of a controversy with her (often duplicated but never replicated) notorious pose reigned supreme over the rap game under the wings of slain rapper notorious B.I.G and rap mogul Puffy’s Bad Boy affiliation.

The founding member and mogul along with much of his Bad Boy family  (The Lox, Faith Evans, Ma$e, 112 and joined by Pharrell Williams and French Montana) took to the stage of BET last night for a reunion performance and tribute to B.I.G that saw Puffy fall right back into the whole from whence openly legged Kim arose. (Jokesters claim it was probably the ghost of 90s Flavor in Your Ear rapper “Craig Mack” who too, should have been as much a part of this reunion as all there).

That’s okay though. The shame did stop ’cause player got dropped. He already told us that he “won’t stop” and indeed, the show still went on-although not without incident as people were questioning where Mary J. Blige was who as well, did not make it to the Bad Boy reunion concert earlier this year-raising eyebrows and crashing hopes. Well for the record, although it would seem that Mary J. Blige was much apart of the Bad Boy family, she was apart of Puffy’s Uptown Family with Jodeci in the 90s.

Having flashbacks of things remembered unremembered too was Nicki Minaj who-collected so many BET Awards and others in her time-it’s no wonder that at some point in this routine of things, it’d be hard to remember just what you’re collecting for this time around, right? Just ask Nicki Minaj stepped onto the stage to receive her award for (we forgot why too), but hey: it was her duty to know. That didn’t work out too well though. Check this out:

Gone from the scene far too long (for her fans) but welcomed back with open arms-Janet Jackson was the Queen of the night as a musical tribute  starring singers Tinashe, Ciara, and Jason Derulo was bestowed upon the pop queen while they sang and danced to a medley of her greatest, most timeless hits.

Although Jan put egg on the faces of millions who anticipated seeing the pop star perform on the stages of at the BET festivities, considering her Unbreakable Tour (set to begin mid August), in a white jumper, fresh-faced and youthful, she thought it best she take a stroll out onto the stage to “Thank u GOD…” …and say hello to her fans who awaited this day to hear from her:

Oh…There really was an award show amongst all the shenanigans yall…LoL.
